The
Center for Vascular Remodeling and Regeneration is a facilitating vehicle that
unites scientists and clinicians at the University of Pittsburgh and University
of Pittsburgh Medical Center actively engaged in studying the various aspects
of vascular disease and clinical solutions such as tissue engineering, regeneration
and cell therapy. This formal unification is designed to accelerate the "bench-to-bedside"
process of vascular based therapies by:
Fostering
collaboration across departments, schools, and institutes in order to develop
multidisciplinary research teams.
Generating
a core set of facilities and resources for standard techniques and services specifically
geared toward vascular research.
Developing
standards for the testing and validation of new therapies and devices.
Providing
a medium for data sharing to increase the efficiency and utility of individual
research projects.
The
Center for Vascular Remodeling and Regeneration is a new initiative, but its base
institutions, affiliations, facilities, and talent pool are well established and
substantial. We have a long-term interest in the mission of the CVRR, and invite
other professionals who share our commitment to join us in this dynamic, interdisciplinary
effort.
