Biography |
J. Peter Rubin, M.D. joined the Pitt faculty after completing his training in plastic surgery at Harvard. He founded the UPMC Life After Weight Loss program, a multidisciplinary center for body contouring after gastric bypass surgery. In addition, he performs breast reconstruction and is co-director of the developing UPMC aesthetic surgery center.
Dr. Rubin has established an adipocyte biology laboratory within the division of plastic surgery, and studies adipose metabolism and tissue engineering of adipose tissue. His other research interest is xenotransplantation, which he pursues in collaboration with Dr. Tom Starzl. |
